Coconut Oil Hot Oil Treatment

I have tried many hot oil treatments, but the one I have found most successful so far is Coconut Oil. I actually bought this at the grocery store, it was a pretty large jar for 10 dollars, and that jar will literally last you months! And I use coconut oil for everything from acne to Rosacea to split ends to a dry scalp.

For this treatment, what I usually do is put the stopper in my sing and fill it up with hot water. Then I put the closed jar standing up in the sink in the hot water and let it sit there for like five or ten minutes until it is all melted.

You could do this after you wash your hair, or just wet your hair down, and towel dry first. You don't want to apply it to soaking wet hair. You can section your hair into four or five if you want, or just plop some right on your head, I've done both and gotten great results either way.

After your hair is thoroughly coated, put a shower cap over your head (or saran wrap or a towel). Then blow dry your hair to ensure penetration. I usually do this for about 10 minutes and then I unwrap my hair and comb through the oil one ore time now that it's even warmer.

Next I leave my hair for another 10 minutes roughly, maybe 15, to cool down so it locks in some more of the oil into the cuticle. When You rinse this oil form your hair, if you have a clarifying shampoo that would work perfectly, or just shampoo your hair twice. You won't need to condition. The reason I say to shampoo twice or with a clarifying shampoo is because this oil is pure and uncut with any additives, it is very heavy and dense, so if you don't rinse it all out it can leave your hair feeling greasy.

This treatment is truly one of the best things I have ever done for my hair, and I usually repeat once every or every other week.  I hope it works the same wonders for your hair naturally as it has for mine.
